Tatiana Serrão

Tatiana Serrão is a partner at FBL Advogados, having her work focused particularly on Administrative and Tax Law, as well as Corporate, Commercial and Private Investment Law.

 

Co-coordinator of the Corporate, M&A and Private Equity practice area, she assists clients from various sectors and jurisdictions who wish to establish themselves in Angola.

 

Throughout her career, she has advised various international companies and individual clients on the incorporation of companies based in Angola, corporate restructuring and M&A transactions, involving various sectors such as the commercial sector, in its various aspects, including the provision of various services, the industrial sector, mineral resources and public procurement.

 

Since 2014 she has been a member of the Technical Group for Legal and Legal Issues of the Council of Ministers.

 

She also has extensive experience as a legal consultant to the Ministry of Commerce and the Constitutional Court of Angola.

 

She taught Administrative Law, International Trade Law and Civil Procedural Law I at the School of Law of Universidade Católica de Angola.

Experience

  • Assisting various foreign companies in setting up companies via foreign investment, in particular investments made by Angola's leading tin can manufacturer (initial investment of USD 19 million) and Angola's leading detergent manufacturer (initial investment of EUR 10 million);

  • Assistance in the restructuring of various companies, namely an ongoing restructuring process of a leading beverage company in Angola, a transaction involving an investment of around USD 20 million;

  • Assisting a leading diamond cutting company in Angola, one of the first multinational companies to set up in Luanda, with an initial investment of approximately USD 10 million;

  • Assisting several foreign companies in setting up joint ventures with Angolan companies, including service providers to the oil sector and companies exploring other mineral resources, including diamonds;

  • Advising Angolan state-owned company in the process of issuing bonds, in the amount of approximately USD 150 million;

  • Assisting foreign investor group in restructuring of approximately 20 companies, including M&As and various dissolutions.
